If you like Caribbean food, there's a new restaurant in Bridgeport to please your palate.

State and local leaders were on hand for a ribbon cutting at Uncle Joe's in the Hollow.

The owner invites everyone to stop by and try his personal specialty - chicken and waffles.

He says the menu is a fusion of Caribbean and soul food.

"You have a New York vibe, an island vibe, a southern vibe, put it all together and I think that's what makes us really different, along with the phenomenal service, the atmosphere, the music, the drinks,” said Nate Smith.

The menu also features seafood and jerk chicken.
