FAIRFIELD -

A man is accused of a gunpoint robbery inside a Subway restaurant in Fairfield, police say.

The incident happened Thursday inside the Subway on Post Road around 7:25 p.m.

The suspect took out a black-colored gun and removed cash from the register.

He is described as a black man, last seen wearing a black-colored beanie hat, brown-colored jacket, and blue-colored jeans with sun glasses.

He ran out of the store and through the Dunkin' Donuts nearby.

Police used a K9 unit to track the suspect but were unsuccessful.

Police say this is the second robbery in town in less than a week but they do not believe the incidents are connected.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fairfield police department's detective bureau at 203-254-4840.
