The SoNo Collection, the long-awaited mall in South Norwalk, is about to take a major step to opening its doors.

Nordstrom is hosting a "Norwalk Night Out" benefiting nonprofits and giving people a sneak peak at the store before it officially opens Friday.

Jamie Nordstrom says his stores have been in Connecticut for 22 years, and he has had his eye on this location for a long time.

Final touches are still being done on the rest of the mall. It was announced Thursday that other stores at the mall will include Bloomingdales, Verizon and Victoria's Secret.

The mall's developer says more stores will be opening in the coming weeks and closer to the holidays.

New traffic patterns with additional turn lanes are being built as part of the project.
