Flooding from the nor'easter Thursday left customers needing to be rescued from two restaurants in Bay Shore.

Firefighters in trucks rolled up to the LakeHouse and Whalers restaurants on Maple Avenue around 9 p.m.

Suffolk police say about 60 people, including customers and staff, had to be evacuated because of water that rose to about 3 to 4 feet.

According to police, it took about an hour to get everyone out of the restaurant.

The street remained closed Friday as crews worked to lower the water level. Gas and electric also had to be shut off Thursday night.

Neighbors in Lindenhurst also say that flooding was worse than usual on Shore Road and Cedar Place.
