The Regional Conference on Sustainable Development held an event Wednesday on the importance of using electric cars.
They say right now, only 2% of the state is driving electric cars.
About 130 people attended the event at Fairfield University. The hope is that in the next decade or so, 50% of people will be driving electric cars in the state.
There were groups from all over the Northeast that came out for this event.
The state expects prices of electric vehicles to decline in the years ahead.
