NYPD officer injured by razor blade inside sandwich from Queens deli

An NYPD officer eating a sandwich from a Queens deli was injured Thursday by a razor blade that was discovered inside of it.
The incident happened at Bon Appetit Deli on 418 Beach 129th Street at around 4:30 p.m.
The officer was eating when he felt something hard and metal in his mouth. He felt a sharp pain and pulled out the razor blade.
The officer was on duty at the time. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.
The deli has apologized for what it calls an "unfortunate incident."
The 100th Precinct is investigating the incident. No arrests have been made at this time.
Bon Appetit Deli management told News 12 in a statement that: "...we are deeply concerned and disturbed by the incident that took place on December 5th. We use a variety of tools to prepare our food, but none should ever be found in any food item meant for consumer consumption."
