Norwalk construction company, responsible for some of Connecticut's major projects, celebrates 100 years

The park at the corner of Raymond and Day streets is the latest project from Deering Construction.

Dan Deering started the company in 1919 and was involved in some of the biggest projects in the state, including the cloverleaf on the Merritt Parkway and some of the bridges. The company also worked on some of the local athletic fields at Brien McMahon and Norwalk High School.

Mike Deering says he learned a great deal from the advice that his great-grandfather gave him. Mike's son Troy is now the next generation in the company and he says he now has some big shoes to fill.
