Seven wheelchair accessible vans used to transport people with special needs in Connecticut and Westchester were vandalized in Bethel, officials say. 

The incident happened Saturday at the nonprofit Ability Beyond on Berkshire Boulevard after 12 a.m. 

Police say suspects stole all of the van's catalytic converters from the engines. 

The bus service transports more than 3,000 special needs individuals in Connecticut and New York.  

"As a nonprofit organization, any unexpected expense hurts, and having vans out of service during the busy holiday season has created a challenge for our transport team,” says Jane Davis, president and CEO of Ability Beyond.

Police continue to review surveillance video and are actively searching for suspects.
