2 armed robberies reported less than an hour apart in Suffolk

Police are investigating if two robberies are connected after a woman was robbed in the parking lot of Jake's 58, before another robbery took place in Rocky Point less than an hour later.
Police say a man approached a woman just after 11 p.m.at Jake's 58 Monday, pointed a gun at her and demanded she hand over her money.
Police say the suspect took off in a black pickup truck driven by a second person.
About 50 minutes later, a second robbery happened at a BP gas station on 25A in Rocky Point.
Police say a pickup truck pulled into the gas station and the driver held the attendant up with a gun at the pump. The attendant handed over money and the driver took off.
Sam Gol, manager of the BP, says the suspects got away with more than $400. He says he is worried for his employees.
The black pickup truck was later found abandoned in Medford after an officer in the K9 unit found it by listening to police radio for the vehicle's description and plate number. They also were able to recover a gun believed to be used in the robberies.
Police are still looking for the two suspects who they say where involved. Anyone who may have information is asked to call Suffolk police at 1-800-220-TIPS.
