Firefighters initially were told that smoke was coming from multiple windows. When they arrived, they found the fire had rapidly spreading throughout the home.

A Stratford home was heavily damaged in a fire Thursday night.
It happened on Van Street just before 6:30 p.m.
Firefighters initially were told that smoke was coming from multiple windows. When they arrived, they found the fire had rapidly spreading throughout the home.
Fire officials say they were able to quickly find a water source because the fire hydrant was shoveled out and accessible.
No one was hurt and everyone got out before crews arrived.
The Red Cross is assisting residents.
