yesterdayDeputy Chief Jermaine Atkinson has been tapped to be the new fire chief in Stratford.
His promotion takes effect July 1.
Chief Atkinson has been a member of the Stratford Fire Department since July 2001.
He replaces Chief Brian Lampart who will retire as chief on June 30, after a 34-year career.
