Teens learned tips for safer driving habits in Stratford Saturday afternoon.
For the past four years, Keith Scala, the president and owner of SCM Insurance, has put on a one-day safety program called "Tire Rack Street Survival" off South Main Street in Stratford.
About 25 teens participated in the program, which is meant to prepare them for real-life scenarios behind the wheel.
Scala says he wants to prevent teens from becoming a statistic: automobile accidents are the leading killer among in their age group, studies show.
