Striking Sikorsky Aircraft workers were picking up paychecks from their union Monday.Taxes are not taken out of the $232 check now, but union members will be responsible for filing at the end of the year. The union members say the check isn't much compared to what they were making while working at Sikorsky, but they're happy that they can start paying off a few bills.
Strikers have been picketing against Sikorsky Aircraft for two weeks and the company remains firm on the issue of increasing employees? payments for health insurance.
