Students at Greenwich school root for Olympic alum
(02/14/06) GREENWICH ? Students at Greenwich Country Day School watched someone near and dear to their hearts participate in the Olympics Tuesday.
Nineteen-year-old Helen Resor, a Greenwich Country Day School graduate, is playing for the U.S. Women?s Olympic Hockey Team in Torino. Students at the school celebrated ?Olympic Day? in honor of Resor with Olympic-style games in gym class. They also watched the women?s hockey team play Finland on a big-screen television.
Many students say they are inspired by Resor. The Greenwich Day School alumna is joined by another southwestern Connecticut resident, Julie Chu, on the women?s team.
