Subway has confirmed it is moving its global headquarters from Milford to Shelton.
The company says it's making a 15-year commitment for almost 100,000-square feet of space at 1 Corporate Drive in Shelton.
Subway says the Shelton location allows for more amenities for its employees. The company announced the move Monday on its website.
"This move is all about enhancing our employee experience," said Bill Ekstrom, Subway director of business services.
Subway has spent a good part of the last 50 years in Milford.
"This a big coup for us, and Connecticut in general, just to keep them in the state," said Lauretti.
News 12 Connecticut reached out to Milford Mayor Ben Blake for comment but has not heard back.
Subway says it expects to move its employees to Shelton in the spring.
