STORM WATCH: Severe thunderstorms, heavy downpours for Long Island Thursday
There's a chance for severe thunderstorms and heavy downpours Thursday on Long Island as cooler weather rolls in.
Thursday will start off partly sunny with some midday showers possible. The worst weather comes through between about 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. The storms could bring heavy rain and gusty winds. If the storms become severe, damaging winds or a brief tornado warning are not out of the question but right now the best chance for that is west of Long Island.
Things clear for Friday with a mix of sun and clouds and highs around 83.
Saturday will be sunny and nice with highs in the upper-70s.
Then on Sunday, the day starts off sunny with highs near 78 degrees. Clouds increase during the day, and there's a chance for a few showers in the evening.
