A fire that officials are calling suspicious seemed to target one woman?s Bronx apartment Saturday.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames on the first-floor apartment on Evergreen Avenue. Fortunately, resident Brenda Alston was not home at the time. Fire officials say someone lit a bag on fire right in front of Alston?s door. The apartment was heavily damaged by the flames.
Alston has lived in the building for 30 years and says she has no enemies. The Red Cross is helping Alston until she can return to her home. The fire is under investigation.
