Jae Rivera and his wife, Amy Soto, run a nonprofit called CT Beds because “people deserve to sleep in a bed at night.”
"We build beds and give them to people in need all across Connecticut -- and by doing so we help to restore their dignity. People should not be sleeping on the ground or on the floor or on a couch," Rivera told News 12.
The couple started their nonprofit in May and have already provided beds to 31 people, Rivera says.
They say they work in partnership with state agencies such at Department of Children and Families and the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs.
The nonprofit also provides mattresses, bed sheets, pillows and other essentials.
The couple thanked the nonprofits 'Linens of Love" and "New Haven Reads" for helping with their effort.
