Synagogues across Connecticut are on high alert in the wake of the Israel-Hamas War.
Mark Schachter has been providing personal protection to a variety of people for more than two decades.
Schachter says in recent days he has received an increase in requests from synagogues to help maintain a sense of safety.
"They're increasing the bodyguards at each site," says Schachter.
Schachter says a rabbi he works with is being extra vigilant with the Jewish holiday and the Israel-Hamas War that began over the weekend.
"He was concerned for his people," says Schachter.
Myra Clark-Siegel, of the American Jewish Committee of Westchester and Fairfield County, says communities can help provide their Jewish family members and friends with a sense of security by attending events of solidarity.
"It is important that we have a united community of everyone across our community standing strong together against this terror and evil," says Clark-Siegel.
