Taste-Train connects riders to diverse eats across Connecticut

Students from the University of New Haven partnered with the Statewide Marketing and Tourism office to create the initiative.

Connecticut has launched a new culinary trail that highlights diverse restaurants along the state's rail line.

The "Connecticut Taste-Train" was announced Tuesday during the ConnCon Series at Foolproof Brewery.

Students from the University of New Haven partnered with the Statewide Marketing and Tourism office to create the initiative.

The trail features independently owned restaurants within walking distance of train stations and is available as an interactive Google Map.

"The trail will be launched and it's a Google Map, so it's interactive," said Rachel Linda, Connecticut's director of tourism. "You can go onto CTvisit.com, if you look up Connecticut Taste-Train it will take you right to the Google Map, you can work with it on your phone."

Linda added that the trail is also a great way to be eco-conscious while exploring new places in the stat
