Bridgeport Rescue Mission distributes Thanksgiving meals to families in need

Organizers gave away turkeys and the fixings Thursday at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheatre.

The Bridgeport Rescue Mission's Great Thanksgiving Project has begun ahead of the upcoming holiday.
Organizers gave away turkeys and the fixings Thursday at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheatre.
The nonprofit will distribute turkeys to more than 7,000 families in need this year.
Turkeys and all the fixings will be distributed at the amphitheater Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The amphitheater is located at 500 Broad St. in Bridgeport.
