The Center for Contemporary Printmaking is celebrating 30 years. The Norwalk studio, located in the carriage barn at Mathews Park, has 10 print presses and two experienced printers on staff. It's the only community printmaking studio between New York and Boston.
The center welcomes visitors to browse the galleries and also observe artists at work or classes taking place in the studios.
Many classes and workshops are offered for the public to attend, and members are able to come and use the specialized equipment.
There are two special events to celebrate this special milestone for the Center for Contemporary Printmaking.
On May 9 the anniversary gala will include exclusive tours of HMTX’s Private Art Collection at the House Up on the Hill in Norwalk.
The following day, May 10, the Birthday Open House will feature live printmaking in every studio, and a birthday cake celebration at 1 p.m. The Saturday event is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
