The Downtown Cabaret Theatre is celebrating 50 years in Downtown Bridgeport.  
Established in 1976, the theater was inspired by the success of the Sacred Heart University Cabaret.
Over one million adults and children have enjoyed productions in the cabaret-style atmosphere.
The Downtown Cabaret Theatre is the recipient of numerous nominations and awards, and some actors that have graced the stage have gone on to perform on Broadway.  
Executive director Hugh Hallinan says he is grateful for the community's support and generosity over the past decades and invites the public to sustain the momentum
He says attending shows and making a donation are the best ways to support the cabaret.   
Upcoming Shows include "Snow White," "Desert Highway: a Tribute to the Eagles" and "A Chorus Line."
