A local agency is making it easier for refugee children to head back to school.
JFS Greenwich recently held a back-to-school giveaway for dozens of refugee children from countries like Afghanistan, Colombia and Ukraine.
"Our children have a really tough road getting here," CEO Rachel Kornfeld says. "This day is really special because they get to choose with dignity and excitement what they want to fill their backpack with."
Dozens of backpacks, notebooks, crayons and other essential school supplies were generously donated by the community.
Kornfeld says the annual event benefits hundreds of kids and their families.
