TIPS to keep CT patrons safe on the roads this holiday season

Dozens of bartenders, bouncers and wait staff are in Stratford Wednesday for training that is expected to help save lives this holiday season.
The workers are taking part in TIPS, Training for Intervention Procedures. The goal is to teach the workers how to spot signs of intoxication. An instructor for TIPS says the key behaviors to watch for are inhibition, judgment, coordination and reaction. In addition, the training looks to give the workers the confidence to intervene when they notice a customer has had one too many.
TIPS is sponsored by the Connecticut Wine Distributors.
