State Democrats say they're willing to compromise with Gov. Ned Lamont on the wealth tax proposed for the budget.
Democrats want to raise taxes on the ultra-wealthy, but Lamont says he'll veto that plan.
"We know when it's time to cut a deal. We know we've got to make that happen, and we will make that happen," says state House Speaker Matt Ritter.
Lawmakers will be meeting in Lamont's office Wednesday night. Both sides have three more weeks to reach a deal and pass a new state budget.
