It was number one against number two in Bronx high school hockey Thursday.
The Cardinal Spellman Falcons hoped to remain in first place of the C Division of the Catholic High School Hockey League when they took on second-place McClancy. In the second period, the game was tied at 3 but Spellman pulled ahead when Steven Mele slapped in backhanders.
But McClancy went on to score two goals 22 seconds apart in the third, handing the Falcons their first loss with a 5-4 win.
