Toys for Tots of Lower Fairfield County organizers say they have not been able to find someone to donate a venue this year for the annual giveaway - for the first time ever.
"We know there's empty space out there,” says Chris Munger. “We need it for our distribution center for Toys for Tots."
Organizers say they need a 2,000- to 3,000-square-foot commercial space that would be occupied between Nov. 1 and Jan. 8. They say the charity is fully insured and the donor would get a tax write-off.
The Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots say they do not want to jeopardize the hope and happiness the charity brings to thousands of kids in need, who dream of getting the perfect gift.
"There were Marines before us, we are the Marines now, and there will be Marines after us that do all this," says Jacob Arevalo.
