Traffic in Milford has finally eased after a bridge construction project was completed ahead of schedule Friday.
The Department of Transportation replaced the Clark Street Bridge over the railroad tracks. The structure was replaced for safety reason. The project also closed the main route connecting Boston Post Road and Bridgeport Avenue for the past 13 months. Storeowners say they are happy the project is over because their businesses suffered from the road closure. Neighbors are also glad to hear their streets will no longer be detour routes.
The bridge was completed six weeks ahead of schedule. The project cost about $3 million and is part of a larger railroad bridge enhancement project.
