A transgender inmate won a lawsuit against the Connecticut Department of Corrections in what is being called a "victory for gender-affirming health care."
Veronica May Clark began to transition after she was incarcerated. The ACLU says she was denied medical care, which caused her severe distress.
Clark is serving a life sentence in Newtown for the beating death of her former wife's boyfriend in 2009.
