Trapped Fairfield firefighter rescued while battling blaze

A Fairfield firefighter was rescued after becoming trapped while fighting a blaze at a home, officials say.

A Fairfield firefighter was rescued after becoming trapped while fighting a blaze at a home, officials say.
The incident happened Wednesday night inside a two-family home on Bloomfeld drive.
The fire spread up the walls and into both sides of the building.
A Fairfield firefighter ran low on air after becoming trapped on the second floor, but was rescued by fellow firefighters.
He was able to continue fighting the fire.
No one was hurt.
Crews were also able to save a large, valuable collection of tropical fish and birds living in one of the units.
