The historic Tuskegee Airmen were honored at the state Capitol on Thursday.
Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz presented surviving families with an official proclamation.
The Tuskegee Airmen were the first Black fighter pilots in American history.
They flew hundreds of flights during World War II.
A bill at the Capitol would designate Friday, April 26 as Tuskegee Airmen Day in Connecticut.
