Stamford's Westhill High School has decided to eliminate the honorary title of valedictorian by the school's 2010 graduation.
Principal Camille Figluizzi says the title should not be the only way to encourage students to get good grades. She says colleges will still be able to see their hard work because students will have their individual grade point average (GPA).
Many students say this is unfair. They say they work hard for four years to receive the title and want the option to do so. Figluizzi says she is looking into other ways to honor students with high GPAs.
