A Bronx street is drowning in thousands of gallons of water Thursday as a result of a water main break.Police and officials from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Con Edison were at 240th Street between Broadway and Corlear Avenue where a 24-inch water main broke. The owner of a local car dealership says four-feet of water flooded the basement of the dealership where many cars are stored. He estimates the water damage will exceed $500,000.DEP officials say the break may have been caused by a blown fire hydrant. Police report all trains from the area are running as scheduled.
