Some Belmont shop owners and tenants say all they wanted for Christmas was running water, but none came.
Owners of the Jade Stone Café say they were forced to turn away customers from Friday to Tuesday because workers couldn?t cook or clean. They say it adds up to thousands of dollars lost. Tenants who live above the business also complain about their water pipes running dry. Residents believe a clogged sewer is to blame. They say dirty water often floods the basement and spills onto the street.
The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) confirms it recently flushed the sewer. The DEP plans to send an inspector to the site. Magaw Management has not returned calls for comment.
