Watertown police say stranger lurking near middle school was a misunderstanding
Watertown police say an incident involving a stranger approached a student near Swift Middle School Thursday was a misunderstanding.
Police say they received a report of a person asking a student if they needed a ride.
The student was deemed safe.
Following an investigation, police said Friday that the person was a new driver for a school-contracted student transport service who was unfamiliar with the area.
There was no threat to students or the community, police say.
