Wesleyan University student dies in skiing accident while studying abroad

A Wesleyan University-Connecticut student has died in a skiing accident while studying abroad, the university says.
Jack Seivwright, 24, died on Feb. 12 following a skiing accident, Wesleyan University wrote in a Tweet.
"It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of Wesleyan student Jack Seivwright ’24. Jack, who was studying abroad this semester, passed away February 12 following a skiing accident."
University officials say Seivwright was a student-athlete known on campus for bringing people together.
Seivwright was a member of the soccer team during his freshman year in 2020-2021.
Head coach Geoff Wheeler says, “Seivwright was a ball of energy who loved being active and spending time with his friends. It is so sad to see his life end so early.”
University officials did not say where Seivwright was studying abroad or what happened leading up to his death.
