With the weather beginning to warm up, health officials are already taking action to protect Bronx residents from the West Nile virus.
Pelham Bay will be the first area in the borough to be sprayed. The city's Department of Health says the spraying will take place from June 20 to June 22 in the north section of Pelham Bay. The spraying will take place from the hours of 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and affects anyone in zip code 10475.
Health officials say the spray is not harmful, but they are asking residents with asthma or other respiratory problems to remain indoors.
