Westchester County police have been targeting large-scale fentanyl suppliers since June 2020 and getting results.
Almost 500,000 individually packaged bags of fentanyl with a street value of more than $2 million are off the streets thanks to the Narcotics Reduction Program.
The program is also responsible for seizing 94 kilos of fentanyl, 42 vehicles with hidden compartments and 27 firearms.
"The record amounts of fentanyl and the drugs that were seized, have resulted in, basically of this quarter of this year, a 40% reduction in overdoses," says Westchester Police Chief John Hodges. "The numbers are down significantly."
