Westport Pride, in collaboration with the town of Westport and local volunteers, installed the vibrant rainbow crosswalk to promote inclusivity and celebrate the diverse community of Westport.

The group says the sidewalk is intended to be a symbol of unity and acceptance in the heart of Westport.

The temporary rainbow crosswalk, a first for Westport, was created using an innovative product called alumigraphics grip.

The rainbow crosswalk, adorned with the colors of the progressive pride flag, serves as a powerful symbol of inclusivity and support of all residents in Westport, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

The design is piano key style, with 11 colors featured between the white spaces of the existing crosswalk.
