Westport town officials met with residents Wednesday to discuss ways to prepare for the next big storm.Town officials advised homeowners to contact their insurance companies to find out if they?re covered for floods. They also urged people to flood-proof their homes. Westport Fire Department officials say calls to their station edged close to 300 during the last big storm, jamming phone lines. Next time, they are urging people to call 911 only in cases of dire emergency. The town says it is working on improving culverts and streams to alleviate future flooding. Related Information:FEMA
