There is no putting a price tag on the value of the love moms give, and with the increase in the price of almost everything, one Westport local business hopes to save you both time and money while shopping for mom.
People are spending around $272 on mom this year as compared to $245 in 2022, according to Investopedia.
In 2019, spending was just under $200 at $196.
House and garden items are up 16.3%, personal services are up 16.8%, and books and CDs are up 25.4%.
Westport mom and small business owner Annette Norton says mothers work tirelessly all year round - loving and caring for their families, but you won't have to put in too much work to find the perfect gift to tell her how much she means.
"I named it Savvy and Grace because if you look around you are going to see something for everybody it's almost like a small department store right its right in the heart of downtown," Norton says.
She says the name reflects the prices which she says match online retailers. She says it’s actually savvy to shop local, plus her store offers gift wrapping for free.
She says there are gifts for every budget with mugs, trinket trays, lotions, candles, and fun mom-themed jewelry for $20 or under.
