Three juniors from Staples High School in Westport, Peter Klopfer, Jonah Bomback and Asher Vengrow, have always had a passion for sports and trading cards.

"Those are just two things I've always absolutely loved from a very young age," Peter said.

The friends started a trading card platform last year called "Cardz Against Cancer" - benefiting the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven Hospital.

The platform has now exceeded their initial goal of $5,000, and they've set a new goal of $7,500.

'Everyone should do their best in life and I think by giving back and helping others in need, that's one way you can do it," Asher said.

Jonah said the experience has been "very gratifying."

"Seeing something that I love, and then seeing how it can create something so great in the world, is so rewarding."
