A major update is coming to the Whopper as Burger King rolls out the burger's first big revamp in nearly a decade.

The chain says the Whopper now gets a premium bun, creamier mayo and sturdier packaging after complaints about smashed burgers falling apart.

The upgrades will cost franchisees more, but Burger King is urging them not to raise prices.

The new Whopper version is set to arrive at thousands of locations this week.
