The Wilton Police Department officially welcomed its newest member, Officer Julian Arboleda, on Tuesday during a swearing-in ceremony attended by family, friends, town officials and department members.

A Greenwich native, Arboleda earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Norwalk Community College.

He joins the department after serving two years with the UConn Police Department. Before entering law enforcement, he spent five years working security at Greenwich Hospital.

During the hiring process, Arboleda received strong feedback for his professionalism, work ethic and willingness to learn. Fluent in Spanish, he also brings valuable language skills that will help him better serve Wilton’s diverse community.

Department officials said they are confident he will be a strong addition to the force.
