Wilton police: Inert grenade found on Middlebrook School property

Students and staff were put under a secure protocol, according to police.

Middlebrook School officials discovered an inert grenade on school property today, according to police.
The Stamford Bomb Squad was alerted by Wilton police and arrived to assist around 2 p.m.
Students and staff were put under a secure protocol, according to police.
Classes were moved to the other side of the building and away from the grenade.
Bomb squad officials determined the device to be hollow and inert. They removed it from school grounds.
The school resumed all activities as normal at 2:15 p.m.
