Someone bought a Connecticut Lotto! ticket at the PVC Gulf on Danbury Road and won Friday's $10.8 million jackpot. News 12 Connecticut spoke to the owner who is all smiles.
"I can't explain how excited I am," said AJ Ramzan at PVC Gulf. Ramzan says Friday's Lotto! jackpot winner is the largest winning ticket he's ever sold. "It’s great for business. Now we are famous. Everybody will know this is a good spot and a lucky spot in order to buy the tickets," said Ramzan. The winning numbers were 4-27-32-37-40-44. As of Monday morning, the winner had not yet come forward.
Arthur Mongillo, of the Connecticut Lottery says the last Lotto! Jackpot winner was in Jan. 2024. The last multimillion dollar jackpot winner in Connecticut was Sept. 2023.
Customers in Wilton said they were excited. "I come here all the time. I own the business next door and when I saw you guys here, that's the kind of blessing that I need in my life,” said Niko Papadopoulos. “…Now I got to go buy a ticket right now.”
Connecticut Lottery says over 8,000 winning tickets were sold but there was only one jackpot winner. The winner has the option of receiving the money in 21 payments or getting a lump sum of $7.7 million.
The next drawing is Tuesday. It's only $1 million.
