New York City winter operations advisory still in effect as snow showers continue.

Due to the weather, the city's sanitation department suggests that drivers stay off the road until noon today.

While AAA is anticipating an additional 3 million travelers this holiday season.

AAA says 90% of travelers nationwide will be hitting the roads for the holiday.

With the increase of drivers, they want to remind people to practice safe driving, that's includes:

• Following the speed limit

• Moving over and slowing down for emergency responders

• Drive alert, refreshed and sober
