Stamford police say they are investigating after a woman was found bleeding profusely in a parking lot near the train station.
Police say the woman was found outside 67 Henry St. just before 7 a.m. Tuesday.
She is now at Stamford Hospital in critical condition with trauma to her head and swelling in her brain.
Officers say the woman had lacerations on the back of her head, hands and knees and bruises on her face. They say her injuries seem consistent with an assault, but it is possible that she simply fell. Until they know what happened, police say they are treating it as a crime.
Police say the woman was last seen at the Stamford train station around midnight Tuesday.
Despite signs for surveillance cameras on the property, police say the cameras do not work and they do not have any video of the incident.
