A county board of supervisors in Arizona is proposing a policy that would refuse the hiring of smokers.
For workers who do smoke, the board is proposing a 30 percent health insurance surcharge.
According to reports, the decision would save the county more than $1 million in health care costs every year. The board is set to vote on the proposal next week.
